Mask Music Studios is a Singapore-based music school offering personalised lessons in piano, guitar, ukulele, vocal training, and music theory. Founded with a strong emphasis on patient teaching and structured learning, the studio is run by dedicated instructors who tailor each lesson to suit the student’s pace, goals, and skill level. Whether someone is a complete beginner or preparing for graded exams, Mask Music Studios provides a supportive, confidence-building environment that helps students grow musically.
Before working with us, Mask Music Studios had no social media presence at all, nor a ready studio space. However, one key advantage is that their students have lots of performance opportunities, ranging from open stages to filming professional covers for progress and keepsake purposes. They also offer home-based lessons, where instructors would travel to the students’ homes to teach them. Lessons were tailored individually to each student’s level, goals, and pace of learning.
Challenge #1
Mask Music Studios had no online presence at all and relied solely on word-of-mouth, making it difficult to attract new students beyond personal referrals.

As they did not have a ready studio space at the time, it was harder to sell the learning experience. They might even come across as not legitimate to some.

There were limited assets to work with, such as high quality photos/videos. We had to work around not having a studio or any upcoming performances to film.

We went straight to people set on learning Music. This allowed us to skip wasted ad spend on cold audiences who need nurturing/convincing.
The downside to this strategy is the lack of trust, as prospects have not seen any educational/nurturing content from the studio.
Use Unique Offer-Based Ads to Outcompete Competitors And Emphasize Value
We advertised unique opportunities and offers that not every music studio does. The public responded very well to such unique offers.
For example, with specific packages, teachers would help students record studio quality covers for free with performance level equipment.
Building a Recognisable, Trustworthy Brand Through Intentional Design & Strategic Partnerships
We developed a cohesive brand identity built around intentional use of design elements to them instantly recognisable.
By working with respected names like Yuu, guitar sellers, and Rockschool exam board, these collaborations strengthened their reputation.
